Cervalis Announces the Development of a New State-of-the-Art Data Center and Business Continuity Facility in Northern New Jersey

Brand new operations center to include 50,000 sq. ft. high power density data center and 30,000 sq. ft. business recovery space

SHELTON, CT – 5/4/2009

Cervalis announces a new 148,000 square foot, state-of-the-art operations center in Passaic County, New Jersey, to accommodate continued customer demand for customized high availability, high power density data center and business continuity solutions. The new facility will provide collocation, managed hosting, business continuity and rapid recovery services on a 24x365 basis. It is strategically located to support the distance sensitive synchronous data replication requirements of New York City firms.

The new center will have 50,000 square feet of raised floor data center space capable of supporting high density configurations starting at 320 watts per sq. ft. for equipment and cooling of customer configurations. The 30,000 square feet of work area recovery space can be customized to meet clients unique requirements in dedicated office suites linked to their critical IT operations. The power is delivered to customer configurations using 2N UPS systems and supported by N+1 generator backup redundancy. The facility infrastructure combines multiple levels of technology and security and is designed to have no single points of failure.

  • 16 MW capacity to support  high power density configurations 
  • 2 separate power feeds from the utility provider
  • 24 UPS units of 750 KVA each in a 2N configuration (100% redundancy)
  • 10 generator sets of 2MW
  • Chiller plant with N+1 redundancy
  • Carrier neutral with at least 5 different Tier 1 and Tier 2 carriers
